On google videos, you can watch the full documentary “Deliver Us from Evil” (2006)
I’m about in the middle of it and it’s, to say the least, tough digesting this. The most devastating things so far are
1. Father “Ollie”‘s younges victim was nine months old (and I appreciate Dr. Mary Gail Frawley-O’Dea asking us to walk through this event – the idea of a grown man forcing his — I can’t even say it myself—.)
2. You can see church officials obviously and shamelessly lying out of their arses (under oath) how they didn’t know when in fact they were the ones to cover the crimes and shift the priest to different workplaces. Oh, and “repeat that please” is apparently code for “I haven’t come up with a convincing lie about this yet, give me a moment” – and “instruct the victim not to answer” is code for “yeah, there’s no way he can say ‘I don’t know’ about that one, so stop asking”.
3. Priest O’Grady – and I give him some credit for it – realized that he is sick and needed help and asked for it from his superiors. Watch it yourself to figure out whether he actually got it.
4. The parents are devastated by how blind they were thanks to their automatic trust(tm) when religion is involved. It shows you perfectly how weak and blinding faith can be. I am fairly certain the same misplaced trust could also happen with pedophile friends and family, though, but priesthood makes it much easier for a complete stranger to get into the family. And… well, thanks to the Catholic Church, to get away with it -at least for a long time-.
Watch it, if you can bear it (I had some tough moments during this so far where I’d have really liked to switch this off and run away).

I finished it and I need to relate this:
O’Grady: “We had one heck of an awful time in the Middle Ages. But you know what? We’re still here! If the church could see it…!”
No. It’s sad that you’re still here. YOU, in particular – in Ireland as a free man instead of a ward – and the Roman Catholic church as a whole. It’s terrible.
